If I burn DVDs and CDs at lower speeds, will the quality be better than at high speeds?
I have been told that when I copy CDs and DVDs it is best to do so at low speeds. Friends have said the quality is always better if low burning speeds are used. Is that right? If this information is wrong, then I will burn blank disks at higher speeds, to get this task done quicker. But, if low speeds really do give better quality, I would be happy to wait a bit longer for the burning process to be carried out. Could someone please help out? Thanks!

- It is always better to burn the files in low speed . It is safer for ur drive as well as disk , data . Especially when u r burning the dvd files u can burn it in 4X speed it is better
- if you're burning DVDs destined for the DVD player or CDs bound for a regular CD player, then slower is better. Sometimes equipment has difficulty reading the discs if burned at a higher speed, especially older equipment. I'd be surprised if newer equipment suffered from the inability to read burned discs done at high speed given how common place burned media is, but just to play it safe, slow down.
- Burn speed don't affect quality(video or audio), you should use the higher speed.
