Backup DVD? i just bought a new computer and i thought i could make my own backup DVD, but i don't remember how to do it. i found the system backup, but it won't allow me to write it to a DVD. will it still work correctly if i do a full system backup, save it to the desktop, then copy that to a DVD?

To backup VHS to DVD, do I need a combo VHS+DVD Recorder? I know that one can backup VHS to DVD using a combo VCR + DVD Recorder, but these devices are kind of big, and not very sleek looking. Cant backup a DVD (Legend of Zoro) using any program!! (Decrypter, Shrink, XCopy...)Please help..>!!? Hi, I am trying to backup a new DVD I bought (The Legend of Zoro) as I do with all my DVDs (so to preserve the original disc and use the copied one;incase it got damaged or scratched...I still have the original!) I tried using LG's 1Click DVD Copy, it said it was copy protected and cant copy (although I had DVD Region+CSS Free running) so I installed DVD43 and it worked....(not for long though!! :< It finished till 100% and when I checked the destination folder on my HD, it appeared that it only copied scences 25, 26 and 27!! The movie starts from scence 27 directly...and when you go to the Scene Index menu and click on scene 1 or 5 or whatever, the computer just freezes! Thanx

Okay, so I used a DVD to backup data and now...? Okay, so I used a DVD to backup data (mp3s and Music videos) and now I can't acess it. (What tha heck!) I put it into the laptop I burned it with and a desktop, but on both it just takes FOREVER for the comp to pick up/read it. And once it acknowledges that there is a disc... It seems as though its too much "work" for the comp to due anything with the files. I have to eject the disc just to get the comp goin again.... Does anyone esle have this problem?

I remember reading somewhere a while back that UDF was newer and had things in it that were more advanced than ISO that enabled for error correction, so that in case a disc got scratched, if it was written in UDF this would not be as big a problem if it was written in ISO. I might even be thinking of a different format than UDF. So what's the best format to backup data to DVD and why? If UDF suffers from compatibility problems then what about UDF/ISO?

cant get anything from backup dvd? i made my own back up by putting everything onto a DVD and then i encrypted it but i try to open it and nothings they but it says i have used 1.4 GB it doesnt ask me to decrypt it or anything can anyone help please i run vista home premium i also deleated all the things i had put on the disc befor i had tried it. it did work the first time i looked at it but then it never as i said the disc says that there as been over 1gb of space used

hi i just want to know if i burn a backup DVD of my system will it back up the OS aswell? will the DVD would be bootable

Got new laptop with Vista home Premium installed.made backup DVD as instructed.What have I backed up? thx? Like I said, I followed all the instructions (it said will need 5 CD's or 1 DVD.so used 1 DVD) What I would like to know is :have I backed up the entire Vista prog.(to use if mine crashes)? can i reformat my com to a previous OS on my backup DVD? I had to burn a dvd when i first got my acer that came with windows media center OS, (maybe a back up CD). I want to get the new vista but if i don't like it, i want to be able to reformat my computer, pop in that back up dvd the my computer prompted me to burn when i first used it and get my windows media center back. Question is if i get the vista OS upgrade and i don't like it, can i reformat my computer, pop that dvd back in and get back my window media center OS?
