I had taped some movies onto video without any problems with being copy protected? Now I want to take those movies and tape onto dvds. i am using dvd decrypter, dvd shrink and nero 7 to copy movies. sometimes it works and sometimes not. why???? sometimes it doesn't work. lately it hasn't worked at all. it reads "not encrypted" as it is shrunk etc. then i put it into nero express and get a wide variety of problems. i really do not know what i am doing but i have copied several great pbs movies and some from netflick but i have run out of luck. does anybody have a clue? oh yes, i have downloaded all the free burners from santa claus to clone and they do absolutely no good.

takes too long to copy DVD movies. Help.......? I didn't copy DVD movies before, so recently I give it a try to copy a 4 GB movies. I use DVD Decrypter to rip and Nero 6 Ultra Edition to burn. However, it took 1h 15m to rip (at about 0.7x) and 1h 20m to burned (even Nero shows me it burns at 16x) . Tried another software such as MyDVD Plus and DVD Shrink came out the same. I also did Defragment Disk and Error-Checking, but it didn't help. Did I do something wrong? anybody has a better idea? I do not want to do anything other than back up the dvd movies I've purchased: I have three year old twins and tonight I have just lost a brand new copy of 'Jungle Book' after it was *posted* through the letterbox onto the concrete step outside. Needless to say, it is not playing anymore. tomorrow I'll be going along to a high street shop to buy another Jungle Book. To prevent this happening again, I would like to make one back up copy of the movies I own so that I don't have to spend money needlessly on another copy of yet one more ruined dvd. But, I have a new macbook and google searching hasn't helped me much. So far, I've worked out I need to use special software and something called a decrypter. is it okay to rent and copy dvd movies off of netflix? its not like im stealing them because they are getting their money by me renting them. its not the same as dwonloading them for free.i think that an original copy of a dvd movie that you make a copy of really should be just like an original cd that you copy in first place.that is under the fair use act law.
